87: Where to Record Interviews and What Instructions to Give Your Guests

When you record guest episodes, you want the audio (and video) quality to be as high as possible. But this can be difficult to control since you never know what kind of equipment your guest will have.

There are steps you can take to help get the highest quality recording possible. These include picking a good platform to record on and giving your guests detailed instructions on what to do and not to do for the interview.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • My number 1 recommendation for a recording platform (great for live-streaming, too!)

  • My number 2 recommendation for a recording platform (you’re probably already using it!)

  • The specific instructions I give my guests before we start recording

I also explain how to edit two separate tracks in Descript since you’ll get separate tracks for you and your guest when you use Streamyard. (Oops, just gave away my number 1 recommendation!)
